About The Stress Institute®: The Stress Institute®
The Stress Institute® is a lifestyle company that provides solutions and practices in the fields of stress management, work/life balance, sustainability and mindful living to corporations, non-profits and individuals. The company was founded in 1997 by the award-winning author, Dr. Kathleen Hall, a world renowned expert in stress and work-life balance. Today, The Stress Institute is comprised of prominent physicians and professionals in a variety of stress and work/life balance related disciplines. Our programs can help prevent and benefit a wide variety of conditions as well as optimizing health and wellness.
Our company is rooted in these core values:
• Mindful Living Everyday™: By waking up to our lives and intentionally becoming aware of the present moment, we can improve our happiness and well-being. Living mindfully increases our awareness, thus decreasing stress. Being mindful of how we affect our world can improve the choices we make and the actions we take. This emerging movement is being integrated into all arenas of the world, including: Government business, geopolitics, environment, non-profits, health-care, technology, energy, finance, corporations and even down to the level of our individual lives.
• LOHAS: An acronym for Lifestyles Of Health And Sustainability, the LOHAS movement focuses on educating people about the environment, health, sustainable living and personal development.
• Energy: The stress in our lives robs us of our vitality, vigor and one of the fundamental elements of the universe. Insatiable desire for energy in our personal lives and corporations has created a multi-billion dollar industry. We have learned to rely on external, false sources of fleeting energy. By learning stress-management practices, we can manage the pressures in our lives and create internal, sustainable energy.
• Green Health Care: This model of health care recognizes the connection between human and environmental health. By practicing Green Health Care, including stress-management, work/life balance and lifestyle changes, we reduce our health care costs and strain on our health care system. Practicing Green Health Care can help us become aware of our environmental footprint and encourages us to take responsibility to improve the lives of ourselves, the community and our environment.
• Sustainability: A formidable topic today, sustainability practices help us create the best outcomes for both the present and the future. By becoming mindful of our actions today, we can ensure the important aspects in our world are still present in the years to come.
The Stress Institute® is not therapy, but rather the source for information on living intentionally. Our original content and solutions are here to help corporations and individuals achieve their goal of a better life.
We do not provide clinical services nor are we able to respond to requests for assistance with personal problems other than to suggest resources that may be helpful when appropriate.
